I recently had a similar experience. Granted, the 'Search This Thread' dropdown shows 64 mentions of 'despecialized', but this is a 2,500 page thread. It's honestly hard to express the profound sense of relief that I feel that the real Star Wars can't be wiped out by ego myopia and greed.
What's really unexpected though, is that the despecialized editions led me to fan edits of the Prequel trilogy, and while no edit cure those fatally flawed movies, they can minimize some of the biggest flaws, and make them far more watchable. I suggest you search for edits by Seciors, HAL9000, Magnoliafan, and l8wrtr. Until last week, I had never watched Episode III. Fanedits finally made it possible.
