Default Optimum region uk Blu-rays in September

Optimum Home Entertainment have announced the UK Blu-ray Disc release of several catalogue titles in September. All titles are listed as Region B with the exception of Basic Instinct, which is Region A & B coded.

Updates: Army of Darkness has been added to the line-up; NOTLD and Day of the Dead (2008) have moved from 1st Sept to 15th Sept; Pricing, Region Coding info & AV specs added for all titles (except for AV info on Army of Darkness); updated extras info on They Live and Evil Dead 2 (previously these two had no extras, but now they do).

15th September 2008:

Night of the Living Dead - George A. Romero’s zombie classic is given a remastered release and includes a 90 minute documentary on the director. A single-layer disc, features include:
1080P 1.33:1 Full Screen (AVC)
English DTS-HD Master Audio & English Mono
90 min Romero documentary One for the Fire

Day of the Dead (2008) - This direct-to-video remake stars Mena Suvari, Ving Rhames and Nick Cannon. A single-layer disc, features include:

Basic Instinct - This erotic thriller starring Michael Douglas and Sharon Stone arrives on Blu-ray alongside a new DVD release but retains none of the extras (the DVD will include the “Blonde Poison” featurette, commentary by Camille Paglia and the original trailer).

A dual-layer disc, the film is presented in 1080P 2.35:1 Widescreen (VC1) with 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio.

22nd September 2008:

They Live - “Rowdy” Roddy Piper stars in John Carpenter’s sci-fi thriller that arrives on Blu-ray alongside a new DVD release and, contrary to earlier information from the studio, will now retain all of the DVD extras. A single-layer disc, features include:
