I think that is one of the (useful) reasons why the mains are switchable.

I believe that the Hard A/B (as opposed to zone 2 and 3) are both effected by eferything the Yamaha does. You are simply switching the wonder from one set of mains to another so I believe an external amp will effect both A+B.

Is this not in your manual???
