Put the money into what counts: the acoustics and the equipment. I go into a theater to see a movie with the best presentation possible, not to keep the lights on and stare.

My theater room is not large (about 10' x 14' with the closet doors removed for extra lens throw) but with my front projector, I focused only on performance: creating as much of a black pit as I could for maximum contrast and the image is stunning on my JVC. My room won't win any awards, but does what it is intended.
