No, it didn't. Yes, it didn't have Grimm's ratings, but that was the network expecting blood from a stone. You can't put a show on and expect it to have the biggest audience ever after 3 episodes. You need to let the show find its footing. Let the writers find their grove. Let everyone figure out how they want it all to work and where they want to go with it.
Cutting a season in half does not help. The fact is NBC never wanted Constantine to succeed in the first place. They had no faith in it at all and I'm not even sure why they bothered to order it in the first place.

Oh, and to make matters worse, it sounds like the show is going to be a season long story arc instead of individual stories. As such, it is Tales from the Crypt in name only.
