Here is the general rule of thumb when it comes down to making the decision between LCD and Plasma:
If there is a source of exterior light in the room (partially shaded window where lots of daylight still leaks in) then LCD is the best option.
If it is a completely darkened room with absolutely no exterior light coming in, Plasma is the better choice.
Otherwise, the rest of the decision factors should come down to the technical specs of the TVs themselves.
