I've never seen any of the Saw movies, because watching torture isn't my thing.
Funnily enough, I own and love several early 1980s slasher films, because I enjoy the suspense buildup, I enjoy the makeup gore effects, and such. In those films, though, people are generally killed right away, and not tortured.
I have no problem with gore or violence, but depictions of sadism bother me. From what I've read about the Saw movies, the element of sadism is strong with them. A Nightmare on Elm Street and its sequels are probably the closest that I get to sadism, because Freddy tends to toy with his victims a lot before killing them. There's a difference, though.
