I couldn't disagree more. The DVD can't hold a candle to the BD or HD DVD. Is it grainy? Hell yeah..is is pretty? Nope. Is it faithful to the source? YES. This is an intentionally grainy movie and if you are looking for clarity like Deja Vu, you aren't going to find it here. This was shot on 16mm, which shows heavy film grain. The only way to get rid of it would be to filter it out with noise reduction and a high pass filter, but what you would be left with would be a soft picture with no fine detail.

The compressionists should be commended in this release for making it look quite good considering what they had to work with.
