Yes even though dated, I absolutely love khakee, company and devdas mixes. They were pretty well done and eros provided good soundtrack on their DVDs.
For Veer zaara however, though the music, score, orchestra and vocals were very lively and aggressive, there was a problem with its dialogue mixes. The sync sound recording of dialogues was not well done. hence it did not gel well with the overtly alive score during dialogue scenes. In at least couple scenes, dialogue is hard to make out and center channel really struggles to bring up the muffled recoording.
example- 1) Go to the bridge crosssing scene at the river. When Veer replies to zaara on teh question aap kitni baar meri jaan bachayenge, see how badly his response was recorded and the digitised accompanying music made it even worse.
2) Go to first prison scene when veer opens his mouth and starts speaking. Let me know if anyone can make out when he says 'Main aaj bhi apne haathon ki tapish aur khoon ki .... jab main apne helicopter ko pahadon ke beech le jaya karta tha' . I get the idea. its not important but certainly u cant make it inaudible for that reason.
