The studios are hoping you'll notice the improvements with 10 bit (or 12 bit Dolby Vision when that becomes a thing) bit depth, better color reproduction, and greater contrast.
Once you see films that had 4k workflows throughout, then you'll end up with noticeably more detail too.
BBC Nature is working on a new full 4k
Planet Earth 2 and hopefully that will be released on UHD Blu-ray. That would be stunning.
