I just came back from a screening of this in RealD 3D.

Reviews are embargoed so I will avoid spoilers and concentrate on the 3D, which you'll all be pleased to know is much better than on the first movie (which I only saw theatrically in 2D, catching up with it in 3D on blu ray).

I thought the depth was medium/strong with clear object separation and a pleasing roundness to the turtles - very nice 3D even if it's mostly kept behind the screen. I find that CGI always looks nice in 3D and so it does here. But what impressed me were all the pop-outs, it's a fast moving movie so they tended to go by quickly but I'm sure I spotted a lot more than in the first film and they weren't all just projectiles (though there was a fair few of those).

The stand-out sequence for me to rival the snow sequence in the original was the one with all the action in and around a plane - Paramount need to be commended for sticking with 3D because Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Out Of The Shadows looks a treat.

I enjoyed the first. In a real rarity IMHO for a modern reboot, it genuinely captured the magic and feel of the original for me. That rarely happens when most these days seem to show such a contempt for the original material (like Man of Steel - urgh) that make you wonder why they bothered to remake at all.
You're going to love the end credits. And the movie.
