My friend text me today telling me one of our favorite books (my favorite) was becoming a movie. Both of us have wanted this to happen ever since reading it. I was relieved to see it's in the hands of a talented filmmaker (Luca Guadagnino of
A Bigger Splash,
I Am Love fame) and starring a talented name actor in Armie Hammer. I'd always envisioned someone like Joe Wright or, after
A Single Man, Tom Ford would direct it. But having seen
A Bigger Splash last week I'm pretty pleased with whose behind the camera. The novel is just so amazing. Great writing, beautiful, heartbreaking. I know it can be a great movie if done right.

The book is by André Aciman and I cannot recommend it enough.
