Bluray player or PS3 or PC?
Okay, I'd like to understand something which seems to be obvious to most of you folks.
I like movies, I own about 50 bluray, a PC and a PS3. As I had to go to the sonystyle store for something absolutely unrelated I asked the salesperson the following question:
Why is sony selling some bluray players while also selling a cheaper PS3 that does play bluray very well in addition of other functionalities. Inevitably, the (very nice, that said) sonystyle salesperson told me that he didn't see the point either, and most of his knowledgable buyers end up buying a PS3 simply to watch bluray movies as well, then, eventually, they buy a game or two. Of course, everybody also gets the remote.
Therefore, my question to you is, why would one buy a bluray player, when a PS3 (or sometimes a PC) can do the exact same job? Of course, I would quite appreciate myself a 100 or 400 slots bluray loader, but until this happens (and it might not take too long before so), wouldn't a "good old" PS3 suffice? I personally have my PS3 hooked up to a 28in. LCD that happens to have 4 HDMI inputs and supports 1080p and a somewhat acceptable audio system.
Finally, I would also like to ask if someone has ever been using the PS3 with a sony locationfree appliance to either play games or watch bluray media?
Sincerely,
Jerome
