George Pal in general - and "The War of the Worlds" (1953) in particular!
Considering some of the absolute DREK that some of the studios are releasing on Blu-ray these days (that I am SURE that about THREE people actually want!), I am shocked and dismayed that only a couple of George Pal's films are currently available in the format.
For gosh sakes, Pal's films won MANY Academy Awards(!):
Destination Moon (1950) - Best Special Effects
When World Collide (1951) - Best Special Effects
The War of the Worlds (1953) - Best Special Effects
tom thumb (1958) - Best Special Effects
The Time Machine (1960) - Best Special Effects
The Wonderful World of the Brothers Grimm (1962) - Best Costume Design
7 Faces of Dr. Lao (1964) - Special Oscar to William Tuttle "for his outstanding make-up achievement"
Yet THE ONLY one of the listed films currently available on Blu-ray is "The Time Machine"!
Come on, guys! (Especially you, WARNER!) Get your heads out of your butts and release these greats on Blu-ray!
