In my, admittedly, limited research I have noted that roughly 40 of the 82 minutes of the total run time are re-edited scenes from the 2012 anime. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that the new scenes are probably the same quality... not real 4K.

I had questions about the other anime title recently announced; 'Mobile Suit Gundam: Infinitely Long Title', because the way the producers worded their press releases made the actual resolution of the anime ambiguous.

That said, if everything is hand-drawn (nope.) then my whole rant is moot if they scanned the individual cells in 4K.

Those who know anime know that even 'big-budget' movies/series are still made relatively cheaply and quickly. You can only squeeze so much money out of a bonsai tree.
