The higher-end Sony 4k TVs like your own (nice bit of kit there!) tend to tone map out to 1000 nits and then clip the rest, from what I've heard, and with Warners discs being encoded at up to 4000 nits then it might be worth experimenting just to see what happens. BUT push the player adjustments too far and it can cause some banding, so it's a bit trial and error when it comes to certain discs.
I really don't like having to change settings just for certain movies but it might be worth it if it makes a difference as it does with Pacific Rim. I'm going to keep an eye out for this whenever I watch UHD discs from now on out.

If you want to play with settings more HDfever had some suggestions on sharping adjustments. They bumped the High Frequency to +4 and the Intermediate Frequency +1. I like to tweak it a bit also.
Some good pics here on some of the sharping effects.

They also found the Panasonic processing to be superior to the Oppo 203.
I now have turned down contrast on my TV and like you said it didn't fix the clipping so I'll just leave it at the default max setting.

Thanks for the HDfever link, those French really love to go in depth with their stuff.
