Just to throw in a couple of others besides Lowry...
...There's a good bit of detail about Fotokem and the steps they took to create the world's first 8K scan and digital intermediate on
Baraka. They show some of the machinery in use.
The Godfather: The Coppola Restoration has a featurette on the bonus BD about the 4K scanning, restoration and DI work for the 3 movies. Again, you see a good bit of film scanning hardware and high end film restoration workstations in use. Steve Jobs would be kind of pissed to see these state of the art systems running Windows.
