It's not a sure thing that Aaron Hernandez's conviction will be voided now that he's dead. Many outlets reported yesterday it would be voided because Massachusetts law voids a conviction if the party dies while they're appealing the verdict, but there's been numerous cases where the court ruled that since the party committed suicide it automatically ended any appeals and the verdict stands. This will be a huge factor in any civil cases against Hernandez since a guilty civil verdict will be much more difficult to achieve if they can't bring up the guilty criminal verdict and obviously can't force Hernandez to testify.
