Leaving aside the whole "Theatrical re-releases have been dead since 1998" issue...
Wouldn't hold out much hopes for the other buzz-fueled "Oscar favorites" on the list, either.
(Except for Frost/Nixon getting Cheap Wishful-Thinking Golden Globes nominations, and the Oscars reduced to just cribbing them since they don't have time to make real nominations anymore with the shortened schedule...)
Caught the F/N trailer, and maybe it was just having seen Anthony Hopkins' "Nixon" again recently, but I just stared at Frank Langella's performance thinking "What is he DOING??
