There have been countless threads on this forum with people discussing the goods and bads of pre-ordering, and also just placing regular orders online. Complaints of shipping times, prices, packaging, etc. What is the probability that this website can eventually run its own store? With the amount of users on this forum along, I can see it being very profitable. I don't know much about retail and what it would take to get a store like this started, but I would imagine a lot of the studios at least acknowledge this site and would be willing to help out with a store.
