I think the older i get I am pretty much over the gaming thing, but the ps3 will be a great value IMO so it will be purchased as a secondary blu-ray player with the "occassional" game played in it. The fact it's fully backward compatible doesn't hurt things either.
I will definately be buying the BDP-S1 on launch day, And I hope it's the right decision. But for me, Toshiba's offerings...no matter how good the PQ is off those discs, isn't enough to bring me over. I am pretty picky on player performance (speed, functionality etc) and While I wouldn't even concider the Tosh because it looks like it's from the 80's, it functions like it's from then too!

Ironically, speaking as a gamer first and foremost, and primarily a PC gamer? The PS3 doesn't have a damned thing coming out that gets my toes tingling. At least not until well into 2007.
I already own a 360 for any console strays that might interest me, like football titles and other odds'n'ends like that.
