I'm sure there are original film masters somewhere around that they could re-master.
But it'll look pretty bad. Dirty and poor overall picture quality due to less than ideal production values. And if they fix it up, it'll have that over-processed look. The final season would probably have the best image quality, to be honest, but the greats of that season are fewer than the previous seasons (and the Joker redesign looks stupid, as well as a few others like Catwoman). And look, they did Justice League Season 1 on BD, so DCAU property is far from out of the realm of possibility.
I'd say the best hope first would be the feature length films though. Show an interest though, I'd say. Go buy Justice League on BD if you haven't already. Let WB know that there is a demand for this. Personally, I only bought it all on DVD myself a few months before switching to Blu, so I'm not gonna be touching this stuff on BD for a while.
And yeah, about this one... it's a kid show. I mean, like, a little kid show. It's not like Batman the Animated Series, or even The Batman to a much lesser degree. If they're not even going to touch Bruce Wayne, and instead pair up Batman with random lesser-known DC heroes to face off against even more random DC villains... How can you take it seriously? I mean, Batman can be silly, I suppose, but
is that really the Batman you want to see?
I think what it is here is you guys are latching onto two things that would be better to not mix as they are: a decent kid show and a Batman cartoon. There are plenty of good action cartoons directed toward kids, and the door is wide open for Batman animation, but you guys are just grabbing at this because it's all there is. If they did a perfect animated incarnation of Batman, it most certainly wouldn't be anything like this. That's the problem here. I want something more tonally aligned to what they did with Gotham Knight or the live action films. I don't want Batman put on the level of Ben 10 (even though, I must admit, I do like Ben 10). To be honest though, I've almost completely given up on television, so I haven't had a chance to catch this yet. Even if it's entertaining, it's not right. Batman isn't like this.
ps DIEDRICH BADER!!!! DO YOU KNOW WHO HE IS????
