If you want to get unrealistic...then yeah...consider him the embodiment of pure evil.

He was sent to an insane asylum because... well, where else would they lock him up? He was not sick in the original John Carpenter film -- he was simply "evil" and, since he ultimately could not be killed, some kind of unexplainable force of nature (much like Mr. Carpenter himself has stated in the past).


That is the major difference between the two versions of Michael Myers: one is evil, the other is not mentally-sound. There is a monumental difference between the two and we'll just have to agree to disagree.
