I plan on moving out of my apartment in May, and really do not feel like lugging this 300 lb beast to my next one. What do you guys recommend? I really feel like I need to enjoy some surround sound goodness, but I don't want to lug a bunch of stuff and reconnecting it all back up. Help please!!!!!!
A good or Great surround system would be very nice, but as You wrote, do you really want to lug that 300 lb beast ANYWHERE?! . Hell No if you ask me. I sold my 35" Sony Beast a year or so ago and it was just under 300 lbs. The guy I knew, so I told him to bring a friend. I had just picked up my 50" Samsung DLP so my bro' and I "slid" the Sony into the kitchen under a towel. Since you're moving in just 5 months, I'd get the New HDTV and save more $$$ for the Surround system. Then you can hook it up in the new joint, and won't have to "re-connect" anything. Plus, moving your new TV will be much easier than the 300lb one. You'll be doing it hopefully just once. Enjoy & Good Luck!
