that was printed LONG before the PS3 even had the ability to decode Dts-HD MA. (since launch)

I can promise you its 7.1 Dts-HD MA my friend.

No. But it doesn't need to. PlayStaion 3 decodes DTS-HD Master Audio internally, then sends PCM (upto 7.1 channels) to your AVR via HDMI.
