Somehow I missed the 160w RMS in the Onkyo's blurb. I think that might only be for the two fronts? I had 2x Jamo 850 there and the tweeter or midrange went on one a couple years ago, so replaced it with the SF affairs. Been running this amp for three years now, forgotten most of the research I did. If I have screwed them, it's a shame but then again I did buy them used, so who knows how they'd been treated beforehand. This is my first HT rig.

Your Onkyo is rated at 160w at 6 Ohms and your speakers impedance is also 6 Ohms and can handle up to 250w, so it does not appear to be an issue of too much power going to them in your current setup.
Just to make sure....is it both channels that have the issue?
