Elfman’s score for Justice League isn’t great, but is understandable considering the time he had to do it and the issues the movie kept running into. People criticise Elfman for using his Batman theme and John William’s Superman theme over Zimmer’s but this was actually Whedon’s request. Elfman is still an excellent composer. His scores for Alice In Wonderland, Alice Through The Looking Glass, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Dark Shadows, Goosebumps, Men in Black 3 and Oz The Great and Powerful all prove his heyday aren’t behind him.

I can't say I found any of those scores too memorable. It's a long way off from his early work with Burton, that's for sure. And if that was Whedon's request, then Whedon should get even more blame. I'm disliking him more and more. I loved what he did with Buffy, Firefly and the first Avengers, but everything after that, both professional and personal, has been a bit of a trainwreck.
