In Captain America: Civil War, the only "casualty" of the airport battle had to do with War Machine. Before the movie ends, Rhodes's is already making a recovery thanks to the Stark Foundation. Why couldn't Marvel had Rhodes skip at least one team up movie to show he is still in the recovery phase after a major spinal injury?

There's been enough time since CW for him to "heal" and the suit probably has enhancements for his spine.
