I had a htib and the way I went with upgrading is I bought the receiver first. I still have the htib speakers that came with it and they play fine with my onkyo receiver. I do plan on upgrading the speakers when i do have more money. There will be an improvement in quality just a little bit with a good receiver. I would say get the onkyo 606 if you want to go with the onkyo brand. More hdmi inputs. Of course, the decision is up to you.
