Hello,

I am new to surround sound and was going to set up an entire new system. I just bought the samsung 52 inch lcd tv and the samsung bdp2500 blue ray player. now i am thinking about the sound was as i did not want to spend too much money was looking at the ONKYO hts-7100 system.

The question i had was will the AV reciever and the speakers play the 7.1 sound comming form the blue ray. In short does the ONKYO system output audio via HDMI 1.3 or does it require a optical cable.

Also will the reciever play the sound coming from the TV via the same HDMI cable or do i need some other cable
