Season 2 was the black sheep of the family, and in fairness, I still enjoyed it. But season 3 goes back to the Stringer Bell/Baltimore drug trade again and it also introduces a more vicious group of dealers who become mainstays. Omar plays a huge role in the rest of the seasons as well.
And its nothing like the fizzle that the Sopranos ended up being. David Simon embraced his work and didn't leave 47 unanswered threads floating around along with one of the worst and anti-climactic endings ever.
