Thanks. I finally figured it out. I have to go into my receiver's menu and select Optical 1 as the input setting and I get the surround. The only aggravation is having to go back in and change the input setting back to watch regular television. It would be nice to be able to not have to do that, but it's minor. I'll deal until I get a new receiver.
