What concerns me is that we have had no news in quite a while now. I think the last thing was about Tarantino writing a story for it.
But I think when Beyond was being worked on we had news about it very soon after Darkness was released. Casting news and such within a year or two.
Two years now and no cast updates, no confirmed writers.
I think we're looking at a longer period between movies this time. More of the 4 or 5 year period.
I have no idea how they are going to even handle the Chekov character now. I just hope that they don't recast him. Just mention him in passing, perhaps he was transferred or something.

I’m thinking 4-5 years as well. Recent news posted on TrekMovie suggest they will be doing at least one more film with the current cast, which is very welcome news because for a while there I was nervous they were going to do another full reboot after the semi-failure of Beyond.
