Default Know anyting about Amazon Video on Demand?

Has anyone investigated or used this service?
From what I can tell, videos are limited to 480p and 1.2 Mbps, which means dvd resolution. Even if they are h264, that looks like a much lower bitrate than would be required to match even dvd quality.

From looking in the FAQ, and reading what I could, it looks like you pay for the movie and can watch multiple times, but have to download (or stream) every time you want to watch it. Is that correct? Since the FAQ doesn't answer the question "Can I download and watch multiple times without downloading again", I expect the answer is "no" (and by the way, I bet that IS a frequently asked question).

And, just in case you were wondering, I'm not interested in using the service personally, but that doesn't mean I'm not interested in what is happening on the digital download front. Also, I am not one of those who thinks downloads will hurt BD sales, at least not in the next 5 years.

Thanks
