Watching films in HD now has definitely motivated me into watching a wider variety of films. I had a robust collection of DVDs before getting into BD, mostly sci-fi, fantasy, Disney and TV stuff. But through HD and BD, I've bought titles like How the West Was Won, Band of Brothers, Bonnie and Clyde and Planet Earth, titles I would never have bought on DVD. Reviews I'd read said these were not only entertaining films or documentaries, but also rated high PQ. Except for Brothers which I still need to open and watch and Bonnie and Clyde which I saw as a kid, I haven't been disappointed at all with any of these blind buys.
