Well I grew up with Star Wars in the 90's, and when I first became a fan of the classic trilogy, I immediately dived into the "expanded universe" at the time, mainly consisting of the Thrawn trilogy and the Dark Empire comics.
Point is, I'm used to there being a bunch of extra Star Wars sequels, prequels, side-quels, spin-offs, etc. But they were all books and video games. So to me, we're in a period where we get an expanded universe like we did then, but this time they're actual films. Which is pretty cool to me, even if I think the new films so far are a bit of a mixed bag but enjoyable overall. Still don't like the prequel trilogy, though, and don't think I could convince myself even in a hundred years.
