Completely agree with your last two posts. Halloween 5 is probably my third favorite in the franchise after the first two. Similar to you, Halloween 5 is one of my earliest memories when it comes to horror. I remember watching it on TV with my family around and always dreading when the family would be going through the TV guide to see what's on and Halloween 5 was on, because I knew they would watch it and I would be too scared to watch it, so I would try to think of an excuse to stop watching TV with them without looking like a coward.
I enjoyed Halloween 4 as well, but I didn't like the ending at all and Michael looked absolutely ridiculous in it. The hockey pads under the suit making him look like Michael had a stick up his ass the whole time and the mask looking completely silly as opposed to being creepy. The actor in Halloween 5 was much more suited and built for the role than the actor that played Michael for Halloween 4 and 6.
I also thought the remake for the original was good, but not great. The whole "Michael was bullied and grew up in a abusive family" storyline was lame. But, there were some memorable scenes (Joe Grizzly and Michael). The remake for Halloween 2 was one of the worst movie watching experiences I've ever had. I can't think of anything redeemable about that movie with the exception of Danielle Harris's death and the use of her footage from when she was a child to make the scene more impactful.
