I love movies and I like to collect them so I'm not sure blu-ray has changed that any. I bought a lot of DVDs and I'm buying lots of blu-rays. I will say it has made me pretty intolerant of standard-def material though and to a lesser extent, even some of the HD content on cable.
As far as the theater, I stopped going a couple of years or so ago (got tired of the cell phone epidemic) and thought I'd really miss that but blu-ray has definitely filled that spot. I don't even miss it but I think part of that was that blu-ray got me to upgrade the rest of my HT system. So, I'm much more satisfied with it now as well.
