Don't forget that you can load and run a PowerPC build of the linux kernal on the PS3... I've run both Yellow Dog, and Fedora.
Linux on the PC looks and feels better, but I assume the support from Yellow dog is better if you "subscribe" so you can get the latest sound and video driver builds, I just have a hard time paying for access to software built under Open License
As for games, I wasn't a gamer either, but the demos of GTHD and HS are bringing me to the dark side, hell, I have actually bought Oblivion!
