I see the point your making but I dont agree that it would add significant time/cost to development. These games are big budget and not adding more small features like this is kind of like saying we just built a new house but we cant afford to put in dimming light switches because they cost too much and take too long to wire. (or some other analogy)

Also for the sake of discussion lets ignore the idea of being able to market a game as Mature/Teen. This is about more than whats suitable for Adults and Teens. Many adults, my self included, would like to have the ability to turn off offensive and in some cases even non-offensive content or just to a different mode. Does anyone else remember older games that let you change blood from red to green etc? If they could do it back then why cant they do it now?
