I'd bet at least 90% of people who bought hd-dvd have already adopted blu-ray.... because that's what early adopters do.

People who can't understand the appeal of blu-ray are most likely low-tech late adopters who didn't even get a DVD player until they weren't able to rent VHS at the video store anymore.
His statement had nothing to do with the fact that someone picked HD-DVD over Blu-Ray back when the war was raging.

What he meant was the fact that some HD-DVD 'enthusiasts' couldn't accept the fact that the war WAS over and HD-DVD lost. So they forge ever onward throwing everything that they can get against Blu-Ray in an effort to slow it down.

It's the Scorched earth scenario. If they can't have it, then noone will enjoy it.

Take a look at the goal post shifting that's been happening, first it was noone will buy a player at $400. Then it was noone will buy a player at $300 and the price keeps on going down. Not to mention the fact that the VUDU junkies are hyping it up in the extreme thinking that it'll be able to take down Blu-Ray.
