It looks like I do indeed have something blocking the site, an extension or whatever. I tried the search (and I've done this many times) and it returned no results. A movie that I don't own will quickly return a null result but a movie that I do own will show the spinning purple circles indefinitely.
I downloaded a browser that I don't use, logged in... boom the searches work.
