Hello, I'm wondering if the wisdom of the group can point me in the right direction. My wife enjoys comedies, but unfortunately (to me at least) the vast majority of the comedies out there simply are not funny. I understand that what is funny to one man may be boring to another (hence, I feel it's the most difficult category of movie to create well). With that said, the following are some examples to give you my tastes in comedy:
Some programs or films I enjoy:
Keeping up Appearences (PBS series...I think for me the humor comes from identifying with poor Richard

)
Mr. Bean (PBS series is best, but films were okay...the humor here comes with the outlandish ideas Bean comes up with for solving his problems)
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (PBS series...one of the best comedies I've watched...I was less impressed by the movie)
What I don't like is raunchy or coarse humor...I prefer humor might make you think a little bit (e.g., Hitchhiker's) or has at it's root truth (Keeping Up Appearences...I think we all know people a bit like this).
So...any suggestions out there for this...the most elusive of categories for my collection?
Craig
