We must have missed the original announcement of this, and shame on us for doing so. It’s fair to say that among the writers of Den Of Geek, there are a couple of people who are really rather fanatical about their love of all things Henson, and 80s movies Dark Crystal and Labyrinth are right up there with The Muppets.

Well, apparently, there are plans afoot to make a second Dark Crystal movie, and have been since 2005. Entitled The Power Of The Dark Crystal, the new film now has a freshly rewritten screenplay courtesy of Moulin Rouge scribe Craig Pearce, and according to Muppet News Flash (great site, by the way), the Henson company has taken on a production partner with the intention of getting the film out there for 2011.

Anyone excited at the possibility of a revisit to The Dark Crystal?
