I've read many things about how the sammy, with firmware upgrades, could play the movie on br-j 1.1/2.0 but just not the extra features, so i guess the pasonic can do the same. But what about Java scene selection, or maybe i couldn't even play a movie because of a future advanced java start menu?
so i guess to sum that all up... will either players ever become so obsolete that they cannot play future blu ray movies?! (i dont care about extra features, and i also apologive in advance if this subject has been touched on before)

the sammy is roumoured to be updated to prile 1.1 (which mean secondary video and audio decorder)that is for extars like pip.
and the BDA(Blu-ray Disc Association) has made it so every player released so far wit be at bare minimum be able to play blu-ray movies, current player will probly have to load for like 2 minutes to play movies that are made in 2-3 years time. your saffest bet is the ps3
