I set my backlight to reach about 600/700 nits on my x900e to avoid blooming and brightness fluctuations in the black bars caused by local dimming. In a situation like mine the HDR optimizer could be helpful, I guess. Still I'm happy with my Sony X800 performance, so I don't think I will get it
