I'm not sure what you mean by "True stereo LPCM 5.1."

LPCM is uncompressed digital audio and will sound better than Dolby Digital 5.1 which is compressed. If you are talking about multichannel LPCM audio delivered via HDMI cable, then yes, it will sound much better. If however you are talking about LPCM 2.0 delivered via a digital optical or coaxial connection, then you will only be getting two channels of a multichannel Blu-Ray mix and while those channels may sound better, your overall sound will be worse due to the loss of the extra channels (in my opinion).
