Hi there!
It seems like a Combo drive{DVD + CDW}, after sometime of its mere use, crashes and loses its one wing; the DVD and left with a CD-Writer...
It was proved to me when my
G40 thinkpad's COMBO drive lost its ability to pick/read DVDs.... although the system accessories in control panel are showing the DVD + CDW drive even I have reinstalled the OS!
Can somebody tell me whether there is a technical-irreversible fault and is used to happen in these
precious Combo drives or there is something else!
Number 2, if the COMBO drives are so delicate that they fail to remain multi purpose drive(
NOT DUE TO A PHYSICAL DAMAGE!!)... then who guarantee that DB-Burners will remain effective for its 10 precious properties (viz; read audio CD, CD,DVD, HD DVD and BD, and write audio CD, CD, DVD, HD DVD and BD)???
