Ok, I'll bite. Based purely on the movies themselves and not technical things like how the transfer might look:
1) If Original SW trilogy vs. LOTR, hands down SW for me (I think my tag says it all
)
2) If SW prequels vs. LOTR, LOTR hands down for me (although I'd love to see how the opening battle sequence in EP3 ROTS will look).
