Managed playback versions, transfered to a media player or PC at DVD res through an ethernet/USB jack is the answer.

Say what? LMAO!
Who do you know with the upload bandwidth for BD piracy?
Tiny screen? Uhm, sitting here with this 17" 1920x1200 screen ~20" away from me, it is comparable to a 58-60" @ 8 feet away - without the distance tricking eyes into making up for imperfections(I get to see it all!).
Huge load? WTF? This laptop plays back BDs with ease!

NOTE: *THIS* laptop was designed around the Blu-ray drive. I can't say anything about other manufacturers, but this Sony plays Blu-rays perfectly!
EDIT: As a side note: Seeing as this is a mobile studio, and it came with BD software from the factory, and it was also designed to capture HD from a camcorder, edit it, and then author it... your posting about not being allowed for PC/laptop playback is squashed.
